God will give you the desires of your heart even when you don’t know what they are. He will give them to you because He is the one who gave them to you.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:4-5NKJV
Have you ever said, or heard someone else say, “God knows my heart”? Well, He does. He knows your heart better than you do. Often it is not until we speak without thinking that we really know how we feel.
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23
Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Matthew 12:34
Yes, God knows your heart.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10
This is why it is important to guard your heart, or as the New King James declares “keep your heart”. Returning to the original scriptures Psalm 37:4 perhaps it is clearer now why we need to “feed on His faithfulness” which is found in the Word. If we eat the Word night and day what will come out of us is the Word.
In being full of the Word all that we will know is: God’s will, His plans, His desires. His will, His plans and His desires become our will, our plans and our desires. Yet, knowing and doing is two different things. We have a choice. Those who find joy in following the will and plans of Father God will discover that they have the desires of their hearts. What is God’s desire for you? The best of everything!
29-32“What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself. Luke 12:29-32 The Message
