So the world did not end on May 21, 2011 at 6pm.  Instead of making jokes, some of us,  should be thanking God that it did not happen.All of us need to continue to read the bible and learn what God has said about when He will come and we need to make adjustments to our lifestyles while we are still here.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,  2 Timothy 3:16 NIV

As ludicrous as it may seem to some that people would sell their assets because some man told them the world was going to end it happened because of trusting someone else’s opinion even though it was opposit what the word of God states.

 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Matthew 25:13 NKJ

Take this time to check what other non-biblically based information we have been taught but is not correct.

4-10 “But don’t look for someone to blame. No finger pointing! You, priest, are the one in the dock.  You stumble around in broad daylight, and then the prophets take over and stumble all night.   Your mother is as bad as you. My people are ruined because they don’t know what’s right or true.  Because you’ve turned your back on knowledge,  I’ve turned my back on you priests. Because you refuse to recognize the revelation of God,
   I’m no longer recognizing your children. The more priests, the more sin.   They traded in their glory for shame. They pig out on my people’s sins.  They can’t wait for the latest in evil. The result: You can’t tell the people from the priests,  the priests from the people. I’m on my way to make them both pay and take the consequences of the bad lives they’ve lived. They’ll eat and be as hungry as ever,  have sex and get no satisfaction. They walked out on me, their God, for a life of rutting with whores.  Hosea 4:4-10 The Message

 In a time of financial difficulty, unpredictable and devastating weather, social disunity, political mayhem, and so-called churches that seem to contradict each other people seem to be flocking to what makes them feels good.  It really is time for all of us to take the Word more seriously than we have. The fact that Jesus did not show up on Saturday may be a great source of jokes but the reality is He is coming. If the people had just read the bible they would know that no one knows when Jesus is coming but we have been commanded to be ready.  Marsha L. Randolph

 One of the questions you have to ask yourself: “What do I really believe?  When you pray or when you ask others to pray for you knowing what you believe is important. Benny Hinn, Gloria Copeland and many of the other great intercessors spend a great bit of time teaching before they pray for an individual.  It is necessary to unteach many of the words that have been spoken into the life of an individual before his or her need can be met.  This development of faith facilitates needs being met.

Jesus says: “It shall be done to you according to your faith.”  Your faith has been influenced by various people many of whom you may not be aware of.  Studying the Scriptures, purchasing and meditating on God’s promises, listening to the messages of God’s grace and hearing the victorious testimonies of believers develops your trust in the Lord. 

Healing, financial blessings, relationship repairs and the meeting of needs wants and desires occur according to your faith.  Don’t watch so much news, tell your negative friends to be quiet and read the bible for yourself.

 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

BOOK REVIEW: Put Your Dream to the Test by John Maxwell

    A master at motivating, once again Mr. Maxwell presents a very doable blueprint for accomplishment.  If you want to be a parent, an engineer, or an entertainer; if you have dreams read this book.

    Have you ever met someone who you thought would be successful but never quite made it?  John Maxwell in his newest book “Put Your Dream to the Test” presents the nuts and bolts of obtaining personal objectives. Upon completion of this book you will have a general idea as to why some people make it and some people don’t, more importantly you will know the difference between dreams and fantasy and which to pursue.

     “Put Your Dreams to the Test” is a working book. At the beginning of each chapter is a definitive question followed by a frank discussion of how your answer to the question will influence the success or failure of your dream. As with most of Mr. Maxwell’s books self evaluation is the key, if you are not willing to take a close look at yourself do not read this book. If you are not willing to put forth the effort in honestly answering each question and making the necessary adjustments do not read this book.

I was sitting in Borders for a book signing a few weeks ago and I started reading my own book, I was impressed. As a rule I put so much time and effort into its production that once I am finished I am ready to move on. I happened to be reading the part where Lady V meets Stephen, I had to laugh.

The book I wrote is called “The Truth About Vashtai” the title as did the concept came directly from God. The inspiration was drawn from the numerous women I have met over the years. I did not start out writing a book about a black woman yet as the saying goes “it is what it is”. However, everyone who has read this book so far has enjoyed it, this includes: young and old, male and female, people of all race and religious beliefs.
