“The Coming Revolution: Signs From America’s Past That Signal Our Nation’s Future” by Dr. Richard G Lee is a compelling argument as to why Christians should be aware of what is going on in American today. The author explains the significant role faith has played in American history as well as how we as a people have evolved into a country on the verge of a revolution. As he is quick to explain this will not necessarily be a violent event as some may think when the term “revolution” is used; it will, however, be a change.
“The Coming Revolution” gives a brief historical perspective of the birth of this nation which includes the religious philosophies of the times. The mini-history lesson is necessary to explain how what is going on today impacts the believer and emphasizes the need for everyone to be involved. Dr Lee, towards the end of the book, presents a few very doable ideas believers can do to help move this country in a positive direction.
I believe this is a very important book for every believer to read. It is 212 pages, which does not include its’ extensive notes found in the back of the book.
I recommend this book not only to Christians but those who enjoy reading about the history of this nation, those who wonder in what direction this nation will go, and those who are looking for hope. I particularly enjoyed the section discussing things that can be done now to make a difference.
