by M L Floyd   Who do you trust? Government. People. God. The Doctor. Whose opinion has the most weight when it comes to deciding what to believe? Christians say they trust God but live life based on the words of other people.

Trouble comes and Christians, myself included, seek the knowledge of individuals they know. Our words reflect who we trust as we share what the doctor said. Far to many Bible believing Christians depend on government programs to provide food stamps so they can eat, subsidies so they have a place to live and even in an emergency vouchers to purchase what they should wear. (see Matthew 6:25-34)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

How do you trust in God if the first thing you do is phone a friend, when a problem occurs? Getting upset at a doctors report is an indication that you are putting more confidence in man than in the Word. When you stop trying to make your marriage work it means you are closing the door to God working in your marriage.

As for God, His way is perfect;the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 2 Samuel 22:31 NKJV

God’s instructions, found in Scripture, may not make sense to you but it is flawless. We have to remember all the problems that were impossible for man to solve that were possible for God: the parting of the sea, the giant boat of Noah, the debt eliminated of a widow, the birth of a baby to a virgin, the healing of a woman who had a problem for years and years, the deliverance of a man who no one could contain or the resurrection of our Lord. You cannot go wrong putting all of your trust in the perfect ways of God.
